Queensland police failed to conduct unbiased investigation when investigating the death of Daniel Dastyari in May 2016, a royal commission into corruption at the NSW Police Force concluded.

The commission was set up to investigate allegations of corruption and inappropriate conduct at the NSW police, which was abolished by the Newman government in June 2017 after more than nine years.

In its final report in March 2017, the commission recommendejarvees.comd that the State Government implement a process of independent criminal justice investigation jarvees.comto establish whether the NSW Police Force acted properly as part of an internal investigation into the killing of Dastyari in May 2016.
